Paul Scorza, Executive Vice President, Retail Business Services

Paul Scorza is Executive Vice President, Information Technology & Chief Information Officer for Retail Business Services (RBS), the services company of Ahold Delhaize USA. Serving a portfolio of local grocery brands including Stop & Shop, Food Lion, GIANT/MARTIN’S, Hannaford, Giant Food and Peapod, which collectively span 23 U.S. states, operate more than 2,000 stores and have some of the most extensive supply chain operations on the East Coast, RBS leverages scale to drive synergies and provides innovative solutions, as well as industry-leading expertise, insights and analytics to local brands to support their strategies. Scorza oversees the full scope of the IT function, including software development, support, hardware purchase and support, networks, datacenters, and telephone functions. Paul was a key leader in the merger of Ahold and Delhaize.

Kevin Coupe is a writer who for more than 30 years has been bringing to audiences all over the world a wealth of experience, sharp storytelling skills, provocative and contextual insights, unique worldview and serious levity about the world of business and consumers. He is the author of “Retail Rules! 52 Ways To Achieve Retail Success,” a guidebook for competing effectively and efficiently on Main Street. Kevin is an adjunct faculty member of Portland State University’s Center for Retail Leadership in Oregon, where he has been teaching a summer marketing course for more than six years.

Eva Ponce, Executive Director, MITx MicroMasters in Supply Chain Management

Eva Ponce is the Executive Director of the Supply Chain Management MITx MicroMasters Program as well as a Research Associate at the MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics. She oversees the five online MITx courses in Supply Chain Management (CTL.SCx courses) that make up the MicroMasters Program. The courses are attended by tens of thousands of students in open enrollment from more than 180 countries. Her current research focus is the design of urban distribution models (freight deliveries) with special focus on omni-channel distribution strategies. She also leads research initiatives on Reverse Logistics and Closed-Loop Supply Chains.

 

Andre Shaw, Senior Vice President, Retail Business Services

Andre leads the Demand Management team at Retail Business Services, which designs and implements forecasting and replenishment processes, metrics tools, reporting from supplier-to-shelf, and total network inventory performance. With more than 14 years’ experience as a leader focused on demand, operations and retail management, he and his team deliver retail inventory services to Ahold Delhaize USA’s great local brands, which operate some of the most extensive supply chain operations on the East Coast.

Giddy is the Innovation Manager at Stop & Shop Supermarket Co. She has over 14 years of experience in the food retailing industry across multiple disciplines including strategic planning, finance, category management insights, store format and operations support. In her current role she is responsible for leading the development of ideas for strategic innovation to accelerate growth. She is also responsible for developing partnerships that increase Stop & Shop’s impact in customers’ lives. Giddy grew up in Santiago, Chile. She holds a degree in Commercial Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile and a MBA from UMass Dartmouth.

Ben Gorman, Investor, F-Prime Capital Partners

Ben Gorman is an early and growth-stage investor at F-Prime Capital, the venture capital arm of Fidelity Investments. He focuses on innovative companies in enterprise software, logistics, and frontier technology. Portfolio companies he works closely with include RiskRecon, Simon Data, Threat Stack, and others. Prior to joining F-Prime Capital, he was a managing consultant at IBM, providing internal strategy and analytics consulting to IBM’s business units and geographies. The primary focus of his work was transforming the company’s go-to-market to better leverage data, analytics, and technology. Over the course of his tenure, he gained experience on the ground in 10 countries across 4 continents. Ben is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, where he received degrees in Economics and Statistics.

He has a Masters of Engineering degree in Supply Chain Management from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nautical Science from Mumbai University.
