THE FUTURE OF IOT PANEL (4:15 – 5:15 PM)
The Future of IoT Panel
The state of the IoT industry is transforming rapidly as sensors become cheaper, wireless communications becomes ubiquitous and IoT data grows exponentially. Industries being impacted by IoT are expanding from traditional: transportation, industrial, healthcare, buildings to new ones: insurance, wearables, connected home and retail. Come listen to our panel of specialists share their perspectives on the future of IoT.
AUTONOMOUS VEHICLES PANEL (5:30 – 6:30 PM)
AUTONOMOUS VEHICLES PANEL
Autonomous vehicles – its happening. But do we really want to forfeit control and put technology in the driver’s seat? Join this discussion with investors and business leaders to examine the pros and cons of autonomous vehicles, including exciting trends and emerging technologies that are transforming the automotive industry.
STARTUP DEMOS (5:30 – 8:00 PM)
Venture Cafe demos are a great way to gain exposure through our online and offline channels. During our IoT Connect event, Venture Café will give a selection of the area’s startups, inventors and researchers an opportunity to showcase their work to the Boston community.
IOT MANUFACTURING WORKSHOP (6:00 – 7:00 PM)
IOT MANUFACTURING WORKSHOP
Everyone is excited about the promises of Industrial IoT (IIoT). However, implementing IIoT and extracting its benefits is hard. Machines, tools, and sensors in the shop floor don’t communicate with each other by default so if you want to build an App layer on top of them, you need deep pockets and to spend a lot of time. This results in a situation where those closest to operations (plant managers, process engineers, etc.) can’t fully extract the benefits of IIoT because the iteration cycle is too long and expensive. The idea of Self-Service Manufacturing Apps Tulip is championing, flips this status quo on its head. Self-Service Manufacturing Apps allow people on the shop floor to transform their workflows into instrumented, data collecting, digital processes (Apps) that integrate machine and operator data to achieve business goals. In this workshop, learn the basics of Self-Service Manufacturing Apps and sharing real data from case studies Tulip has conducted that demonstrate the ROI of this new paradigm.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY & IOT WORKSHOP (6:00 – 6:45 PM)
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY & IOT WORKSHOP
Mr. McKenna’s intellectual property protection experience involves all aspects of patent protection and strategic counseling, including establishing patent positions for startups, patent portfolio development for emerging technology companies, and world wide patent portfolio management for larger companies; accelerated patent examination; counseling on third-party patent related matters, including noninfringement and competitive patent landscape analysis; and strategic counseling on the development and integration of patent portfolios obtained via merger and acquisition.
FUNDING IOT PANEL (6:45 – 7:45 PM)
THE FUTURE OF FUNDING IOT PANEL
Fitbit, Waze, Nest. There is no shortage of Venture Capital firms investing in IoT and its not slowing down. Come hear from people in the know as to where IoT is where its headed.
CYBERSECURITY & IOT (7:15 – 8:00 PM)
CYBERSECURITY & IOT
IoT is an environment where an object or machine becomes greater than itself by connecting to its surroundings. In this workshop we will examine the inherent challenges and opportunities in Cybersecurity IoT.
