IOT MANUFACTURING WORKSHOP (6:00 – 7:00 PM)

 Making Manufacturing IoT Agile

Everyone is excited about the promises of Industrial IoT (IIoT). However, implementing IIoT and extracting its benefits is hard. Machines, tools, and sensors in the shop floor don’t communicate with each other by default so if you want to build an App layer on top of them, you need deep pockets and to spend a lot of time. This results in a situation where those closest to operations (plant managers, process engineers, etc.) can’t fully extract the benefits of IIoT because the iteration cycle is too long and expensive. The idea of Self-Service Manufacturing Apps Tulip is championing, flips this status quo on its head. Self-Service Manufacturing Apps allow people on the shop floor to transform their workflows into instrumented, data collecting, digital processes (Apps) that integrate machine and operator data to achieve business goals. In this workshop, learn the basics of Self-Service Manufacturing Apps and sharing real data from case studies Tulip has conducted that demonstrate the ROI of this new paradigm.
